The "Elite" Epsilon Chapter is the fifth oldest chapter in the history of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. The chapter was chartered as a graduate chapter in 1920 since our illustrious founders had not yet determined how to create undergraduate chapters with such small membership levels. Epsilon Chapter was chartered as an undergraduate chapter on October 28, 1948, and at the time encompassed all colleges in New York City. Today, Epsilon Chapter covers all four-year accredited colleges and universities located in the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx. One of Epsilon's charter undergraduate members is Dr. Edith V. Francis, who also served as the sorority's 18th National President from 1980-1986. She is currently a member of Delta Mu Zeta Chapter, which is Epsilon's sponsoring graduate chapter.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a community-conscious, action-oriented organization committed to effectively and compassionately meeting the needs of the communities it serves. Without exception, the women of Epsilon Chapter are equally committed to improving the quality of life in their local communities, while embracing the transitions needed to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.
